Square 4to, 4 leaf booklet and 42 drawings loose in a folder, in a slip case. Foreword by Otto Karl Bach, introduction by Herbert Bayer. Folder and case slightly soiled, o/w a nice set.
Printed orange slipcase contains 42 loose illustrations and 8 page string bound booklet in printed white folder; internally very good condition; the folder, booklet and plates are all clean and crisp; the slipcase has light rubbing and edgewear and large brown stain to the white paper title label on front cover. Foreign shipping may be extra.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 42 loose black and white drawings each 11 by 10 inches laid-in folder with white polished-surace folder housed in orange paper covered slipcase. Title page inscribed by the artist "Christmas Greetings for Elodie and Bob. Herbert 1961". Herbert Bayer was a member of the notable German art school and its subsequent art movement, the Bauhaus group. Educated under masters such as Kadinsky, Klee, and Moholy-Nagy, founder Walter Gropius appointed Bayer the director of the School's Printing and Advertising departments. Using theories of reductive minimalism, Bayer produced typefaces, drawings, and masteries of modern graphic design in Europe and America. Uncommon inscribed. Some sunfading to edges of slipcase, rest near fine. $375.

INSCRIBED by Herbert Bayer and his wife, Joella Syrara Haweis, in 1962. Light age toning about the edges of the white wraps, else very good in a good (edge worn and cracked along a bottom edge, dust soiled) slipcase.
